Presentation anxiety

It can be a little intimidating to speak to many people at once. As a presenter, you may not know what the audience is thinking. Making a mistake in front of everyone is something we would all like to avoid. Presentation anxiety is natural, but we can use strategies to reduce its harm.

    More Practice Tips

  • Speak aloud in front of a mirror can help you smooth out your presentation.

  • Time yourself speaking to make sure you have the proper amount of information included in your presentation.

  • Record yourself to check the effectiveness of your delivery and its timing. You can use an oral presentation app such as Orai, to get helpful tips on your delivery.

  • If you feel shy about projecting your voice or you are limited with practice space, you can purchase or make a whisper phone or an acoustical voice-feedback headset to hear your voice in your ear as you practice speaking.
