Signposts

Similar to a sign that tells you where to go, signposts provide a function as it guides and transitions the audience along the presentation.

Suggested Activity

Game: The Presentation of 'Something'

​

Objective:

Students will practice effectively using signpost language.

​

Directions:

  1. Explain the importance of signposting in a presentation providing students with examples.

  2. Hand out the template for a presentation.

  3. Students will fill out the template using only signpost language and the word "something" (or their choice of word) repeatedly.

  4. Once students have completed their presentation, have students deliver their presentations.
