Presentation Skills

Intermediate Level

2. 1. Effectively plan, organise, and deliver a non-researched individual, pair or group narrative presentation (3-5min.) with simple visual aids.

 

2.2. Effectively plan, organise, and deliver a non-researched process presentation (3-5min.) without visual aids.

 

2.3 Work in pairs and small groups.

 

2.4 Pronunciation: Parse words into syllables, understand word stress with the help of a dictionary, pronounce the ‘schwa’, work on pronunciation issues unique to the students/class

High Intermediate Level

Presentation Skills

2.1 Effectively plan, organise, and deliver a individual, pair and group researched definition/explanation presentations (5-7min.), with limited, controlled visual aids. (visual aids can include PPT, Prezi, Poster boards, live objects etc.)

 

2.2  Students will be taught how to design various forms of visual aids  (PPT, Prezi, Poster boards, graphs, tables, video, etc.) in academic presentations and to refer effectively to their visuals

 

2.4 Use strategies to work in pairs and small groups.

 

2.5 Pronunciation: Parse words into syllables, understand word stress with the help of a dictionary, understand sentential stress and rhythm, work on pronunciation issues unique to the students/class

Advanced Level

Presentation Skills

2.1 Plan, organise, and deliver a clear and fluent (approximately 10 minute) presentation reporting their persuasive research paper findings to a formal audience *

 

2.2 Effectively refer to their visual aids, without relying on them and maintaining focus and connection with the audience.

 

2.3 Work in pairs and small groups.

2.4 Pronunciation: Parse words into syllables, understand word stress with the help of a dictionary, work on pronunciation issues unique to the students/class

 

* If a student is not enrolled in the Advanced Reading and Writing class they will be assigned a presentation task equal to the other students
